Town hall 2021: pool sequencing is delivering
At our July 2021 general meeting, the network came together to share encouraging progress. After the first seasons of sampling, pool sequencing was producing good results, and many of the GrENE-net samples were already moving through the bioinformatics pipeline.
A highlight was our cost-effective sequencing protocol, which lets us process thousands of plants affordably — making an experiment of this scale feasible. We also discussed efficient methods for analysing pooled sequences, early signals of rapid evolution across sites, and the future of the experiment.
